  1. Ooh how exciting! I love parties…attending, planning, all of it! What better time to be a girl!! Ok well, I've gone to many theme parties-Halloween obviously, a western theme, luau, disco, but I think my favorite was a sunglass party. You couldn't get in unless you had on a pair of fabulous, outrageous sunglasses!!! What a riot to see everyone in funky frames! Ah, good times. Thanks for reviving those memories! I would love a copy of this magazine…I'm into EVERYTHING girlie and def love discovering new crafts and projects! This is the one I've been searching for for so long!! Thanks for your fun blog…I enjoy reading it very much!Melissa

  2. I would love to have a copy of that magazine!I haven't gone to many theme parties but the fairie schoolparty when my children were little I remenber as a lot of fun.

  3. what a wonderful give away. i would love a chance to win the magazine. i had a friend in it! i love hosting "win, lose or draw" parties. we have one once or twice a year and it's always the boys against the girls.

  4. pick me, pick me, pick me!! oh wait…..too obvious? sorry. Okay, so….I will patiently be waiting to see if possibly I have the great fortune of you picking my name for the Mingle Magazine Giveaway!!!

  5. yay a giveaway!!! Love it!!My most memorable was an Austin Powers/1960's theme – and since I was much more hippie than 'mod' – I did the bell bottoms (OMGosh I think I still had some in my closet FROM 1967) and lots of suede and a headband… John Lennon glasses… and I gave the peace sign all night. Seriously – every picture of me from that party I was giving the peace sign. Someone should have told me to STOP THAT. LOLxoxosandi

  6. The most exciting party for me was a sister themed party. Girls run in our family. We are lucky to see one boy a generation. When my second daughter was having her second daughter, my first daughter invited a bunch of sister girls over to celebrate. Each attendee had a coded button to indicate whether they were the oldest sister, a middle sister, or a baby sister. With themed food and activities, it was the best. And being the Nona (grandma) of the newest sister on the way, it made it even more special for me. Sisters, whether they be art sisters or otherwise, keep this world a beautiful and warm space, and I am excited to see this magazine full of its ideas for more fun! Thanks for the opportunity.

  7. ohhh I would love to win this…. thks for the chance Joanne! I don't really remember any themed parties sadly.. but the HOlidays around Christmas has always been my most fave time of year! hugs xo

  8. This magazine looks great. My best party ever was one i made for my friends who helped me get through a rough time. I made everthing from the poem on my handmade invitations, food, to the thank you notes. They wrote poems, and put on a little sketch and made speeches. IT WAS A LOVE FEST and my friends deserved it. I took the photos and made a great handmade book for to perserve that event. Friends and crafts are what got me through the hardest part of my life. And now they are part of my good life too.

  9. I'm so happy that you are back! I've missed you and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. I was actually starting to worry about you and was very relieved to see you here today. The magazine looks like a ton of fun!

  10. For the 7 years I lived in WV, we would always have a Christmas Eve party and every one of them were memorable and miss those friends and gatherings dearly. It was always a magical evening and the best of times.I can't wait to see this magazine and congrats to you making the first issue!

  11. One of the funnest theme parties I ever attended was a 50's theme party for a friend's 50th birthday. We rented costumes from the local costume shop & played 50s music, etc. It was a BLAST! This new publication looks like a lot of fun too – would love some new ideas for get-togethers.

  12. I just hosted a RENA day party for my friend Rena. She came from Wisconsin to California. I made I'm a fan of Rena fans, made halloween goodie bags etc… and all with MINGLE in mind. I took tons of pics and I am working on compiling them for a fun article i hope to see in MINGLE next season. So…. yep, Me me me … pick me…. please oh please oh please. ANd… everyone go and get a copy of mingle. It's fabulous

  13. That looks like a great new magazine! And with your work in it, it must be! 😉 And my most memorable theme party? I think that must be my own wedding party, with everyone (including me)wearing clothes they were not feeling comfortable in!

  14. How EXCITING!!THe magazine sounds grand & I will look for it today!Theme parties huh? Well, I was a good little Momma & had charming fun theme parties for my daughters birthdays growing up. It was always great fun & the children loved getting ribbon tiaras in colors related to the themes. Our goody bags were also delightfully fun. But theme party I attended that was a grand memory? hummm. Unfortunately we don't do much… HOWEVER~ my dear friend had a wonderful English Tea in honor of Prince William & Kate's Wedding! wE met at 4;30 am, donned in pearls, hats and fine clothes, drank some of the best English tea, my friend (who is a wonderful Chef) made delightful scones, and other English jewels that we devoured! WE watched the wedding while eating & chatting. It was a wonderful precious memory! So there. Please pick me… I really could use a pick me up 🙂

  15. I would love to win a copy of MINGLE. As far as a themed party I hosted a Backwards Inside-out 16th birthday party for my daughter. 16 year old girls have scary creative minds. They were funny and well behaved.

  16. Sure, I'd love to win a copy of MINGLE! My most memorable party I hosted is my Tacky Gift Exchange at Christmas….super tacky gifts (but fun) & silly party games where adults let loose! Its fun seeing adults play games where they have to be creative. Every year guests leave with an glass ornament they have created too.

  17. Would LOVE the copy of MINGLE. The most memorable parties always have to be with my sons teenage friends. If you have teenagers, you'll completely understand~LOL!!!

  18. I would LOVE to win a copy of MINGLE magazine too!!! I love your blog Joanne!!! I really loved my 50th gulp …Still can't believe that!!..early Halloween birthday party!!My b-day is in Nov. …but I LOVE Halloween!!! I could'nt afford to rent a hall,so I had it at my house!! It was alot of fun!! I made skeleton hand pins for my favors, and put them in a treat bag! I also asked everyone to bring a small Halloween gift to exchange, and a dish to pass! It was crowded,my house is'nt huge but it was alot of fun!! Good memeories for sure!!!

  19. My son & daughter in laws wedding….They were going to go to Vegas, but none of the family would be able to make it so they let me throw them a wedding. It was a beach theme done in tangerine orange and teal. The chocolate fountain looked like a waterfall with the blue chocolate. The fish bowls on the tables were fun for everyone, there were two gold fish for each bowl (orange) with a teal table runner and various teal beach glass & shells. The men wore Hawaiian shorts and the women wore dark teal halter dresses with matching wedge flip flops. Everyone got a Lei to take home. It was so much fun and really beautiful. Best part I spent UNDER 1000$ how cool is that?

  20. OK so clearly you're not going to pick a friend…and that's OK. So…let me just suggest that we both get ourselves some hot red shoes and hit the next First Friday in the city! Sounds like a plan to me! LOVE Mingle!

  21. My most memorable party was one we hosted and it was a Star Trek party. It happened to fall on Leonard Nimoys birthday. Everyone had to come as either a member of Star Fleet or as some kind of alien. The front entryway to our house was the Transporter Room where Scotty waited to beam guests into the party. The bathroom was Sick Bay where Dr McCoy and Nurse Chapel attended those who needed it. We had a punch called Red Alert and another one that was blue like Romulan ale. Guests came as Klingons, Andorrans, Orion slave women, Romulans, Vulcans and even a couple as those guys who were half black and half white. Trekkies wil know what I am talking about. I had people coming up to me years later saying, oh you are the one who had that Star Trek party. It was SO much fun. I would love to win Mingle. Live Long and Prosper!! Joanna

  22. Let's see…I've done theme parties for the kids and even one for me. Emily's princess birthday party was stinkin' cute, especially the version of "Pin the tail." Instead they played "Kiss the Frog." Doned with lipstick and a blindfold, they were spun and headed toward the direction of a large frog cut-out to "kiss." Great Memory! (Now can I PLEASE have the magazine?!)

  23. The best theme party I have ever done was for my daughter's birthday and we did Sponge Bob. I hung different color blue streamers from the ceiling in different lengths. Had a turning lamp that made it look like underwater. All kinds of awesome favors and a fantastic cake. It was so fun and the kids loved it. It really looked like underwater. Thanks for the chance to win x0x0x
