I really, really, really love pens. All kinds of pens. I don’t know where this obsession came from, but i have it. One kind of pen that i love in particular is a fountain pen. Because i letter, write and draw so much, i am served best by the kind of pen that is refillable. I call my daily pen writing “pentivity journals”…creative efforts with assorted pens and journals.
Here’s a peek into one of my lettering, writing, doodling journals. Mine is a Rhodia journal with pages filled with a varitey of ink colors and musings. Try this in your own “pentivity journal” using whatever favorite pens or markers you have. Any journal will do, just have someplace to write and practice every day.
…drawing and doodling with ink, knowing that my favorite pens, the Noodler’s Flex pen used here, are completely refillable with whatever color i want to use!!
…sometimes i will write my favorite quotes or daydreams in this pentivity journal, trying new letterforms and writing styles.
…this journal is freeing, and useful for asking questions of myself, reflecting on my artful life journey….

Write words, thoughts, experiment with your different handwriting, letters, doodles…….get in a pen trance…….stretch your pentivity!

I LOVE my Noodler's Ahab fountain pens! Thank you Joanne for introducing them to me. I like the Ahab because they are bigger around. Only have 6 so need more for more colors!!! LOL

Okay Miss Pen Enabler! If I were to start by buying one Noodler and one ink color-what would you recommend? Thrilled with the tracing paper trick…I am able to just relax and practice…plus I have extra background paper now for my journals 🙂
Sharon i love the Diamine inks the best. You can check the colors on the Goulet site. I have several colors of course! Pick your favorite.

Wow.. Interesting, fun, AND coincidental as I JUST purchased my first pen and ink online yesterday, and can't wait till my mailman brings them here for me to try some new forms of "pentivity" myself!! I get frustrated sometimes with markers, and frankly a little bored with them even.. AND I like that I can refill these kinds of pens! I've only ordered black ink so far, but I'm sure I'll build up at least a small variety of colors in time! Have a great day! ~tina

I love to collage, mixed media, art journaling, but I suck at writing and lettering and avoid it at all costs! I would love to be able to do it though. I am SUCH a pen addict, and I am afraid, my dear Joanne, that you are such an ENABLER….I am 66 years old, and there is no way, on God's green earth, that I will ever live long enough to use even half of the pens I own! I am a lover of the Lamy fountain pen, but I really want a Noodler's flex. Just want to chime in on Goulet. I bought some gorgeous pink noodler's ink and they have lots of small samples of ink you can try without having to invest in the big bottle. Love that…not to mention their service really is superior in just about every way. Thanks for the beauty break. Melody
