….do you TAP???

Do you know TAP?  I’m sharing today’s post for my friend Lesley Riley who invented this amazing product to transfer artwork or photos onto multiple surfaces.  She has a cool new online class about TAP that will bring your mixed media art into another dimension.

I can’t wait to mix my artwork with fabric and my free motion sewing.  As shown in the top photo, you can even draw, marker, and PAINT on the TAP paper and transfer those images!  I am having a ton of fun experimenting and made a print of my very favorite piece of art onto fabric and combined it with some of my favorite colorful designer fabrics.

...the print transfer on white muslin…
…can’t wait to quilt this little treasure.

You can learn more about this cool product in Lesley’s new class that is a true mixed media art adventure.  You can even WIN a spot in Lesley’s class by leaving a comment here on my blog or the blogs of my other art friends listed below.  Let’s get TAPPING!!

  1. My mom just gave me her much-loved Bernina 830 that she used to sew my school clothes in the 60's! I want to learn free-motion sewing on hand-painted fabrics. Using TAP would be a great way to explore this new world!

  2. Wow, the possibilities with TAP are staggering! I have been wanting to move some of my mixed media work to shopping bags and te shirts. This product would make that SO easy! Thanks, Joanne. XOXOX. Joanna Grant

  3. I hadn't heard of this product before. It sounds great. I'd love to transfer photos of my six grandchildren onto fabric – on t-shirts & in my mixed media art.Gill Kingsman

  4. Hi Joanne! Love how you transferred your drawings onto fabric! Great idea! I'd love to try out this TAP paper! Thanks! (Great seeing you in Irvine too!)

  5. I would love to learn about TAP. I am not sure what I would do with it except copying Joanne above and transferring my faves onto fabric. There must be many many ways in which to use TAP and I want to learn what they are. Thanks for the opportunity.

  6. Oh I would love to win this course. I'd put one of my daughters favorite images on a t-shirt for her and a bag to match! So fun, thanks for the opportunity to win!Hugs Giggles

  7. This is serendipity! At the top of my "goals for the summer" is learning more about transfer techniques and HERE it is!!!! This is so cool!!! Thank you Joanne for the chance to join the class. Our dgt lost her job and all finances are going to support her until life changes for her! …so getting into THE class would be a blessing to us all. Love your energy and leadership in moving mixed media/journaling forward. hugs from Canada, Lyndaquiltsaretherapy@gmail.com

  8. This is the first I have ever heard of TAP. I would love to transfer images to my art journals with it. Thanks for the chance to win a place in her class!

  9. I love how you used the TAP. I would like to be able to transfer my art work onto a bag and use it for my knitting or grocery shopping. Thanks for hosting a giveaway.

  10. Transfers have been a mystery to me but I'd like to transfer an image on to a mixed media piece that is waiting for one-but I couldn't understand the instructions in the (written)tutorial. It would be fun to make personalized cosmetic bags too I think.

  11. I have seen people scan actual items (feathers, buttons….) I would use it as a part of a collage or as a background with lettering or a quote on top. Sounds like a fun product.

  12. Would love to win a seat in this class…have been wanting to try this for a long time now, would love to transfer some of my digital designs.

  13. I have never used it but would love to, I would repair my son's little blankie with some gorgeous cutesy panels and leave it ready for his child – it is in tatters but as he is grown up its time to pass on a refurb hopefully.

  14. Hi!! Thanks for the chance to get a spot in this class. I would mostly use TAP for art journaling but I do envision at least one tote bag being made with transfers of some colorful artwork!!cathrynanne1952@aol.com
